« Good News! It IS Possible to outrank Google Local Business Listings
For those that do not already know, there is an absolute fortune to be made in local business, in fact, I am in the process of setting up a small team in my company to handle only this.
While I am still a relatively new players in this area, having only been focusing on local business opportunities for about a year and with only about 5 successful projects to date, the concepts are still the same as standard / global SEO with a few caveats thrown in here and there. One thing I have always struggled to do is out rank Google local business listings however while doing some keyword research this morning, I discovered a few sites (local to the UK) that are managing to do just that.
This gives me new found motivation to dominate more local markets, you going to join me?
Cheers
Nick

Nick,
I have a client who’s roof I did and I noticed his signature link in an email he sent me. He’s a Chiropractor and when I saw his site linked in his email I followed it. I found out some interesting things.
He pays a company X dollars per month for hosting, web site, articles, and supposedly top ranking in Google.
I decided to do a copy scape for one of his pages that the company had put an article on. I got a lot of results with the exact same article!
I called him and told him about it, among other things I found that could have been done better. Blogs, Hubpages, etc.
So now my client is taking matters into his own hands and writing some of his own articles, and making some blogs, etc.
I think you are right, there is a huge local market that can by exploited for just about any industry class there is!
Great comment Russel, recognizing opportunities like this which we are surrounded by, will make many people extremely wealthy in the next few years.
Cheers
Nick.
So what are the differences in creating locally targeted niche sites versus non-region-specific niche sites?
Seems to me that there must not be TOO many PPC listings (and therefore adsense ads to display) for many local business types.
For example… “Pasadena Tree Trimming” or something.
How do you go about profiting from such keywords?
I really liked this post. Can I copy it to my site? Thank you in advance.
Sure, no problem.
